VCE students celebrated for creativity and innovation

The creativity and innovation of talented VCE students was celebrated when Wangaratta High School hosted its 2025 VCE Arts and Technology Exhibition.

Wangaratta High School arts area leader Shane Castricum said the annual event drew a fantastic crowd, reflecting the strong community support for the school’s visual arts and technology programs.

Guest speaker Imogen Schifferle, product lead for AI Apps and Agents at Microsoft, inspired guests with insights into the future of Artificial Intelligence and its connection to creativity, design and learning.

Mr Castricum said the exhibition featured an impressive range of student work across media, art creative practice, food technology, and product design and technology, with each piece showcasing imagination, technical skill and growth.

"Our special thanks go to VCE staff Gayle O’Keefe, Sam Caddy, Ross Kelly and Carmel Glasgow for their exceptional guidance and support, and to all who contributed to the event’s success," he said.

"Congratulations to all students and staff on another inspiring year of creativity and achievement at Wangaratta High School."

The evening concluded with the presentation of high achiever awards, recognising excellence across Arts and Technology, with award winners in VCE Units 1 and 2, Media Studies - Skelly Manning, Art Creative Practice - Lily Herman, Food Technology - Alec Armstrong, and in VCE Units 3 and 4, Media Studies - Hannah Stafford, Art Creative Practice - Orion Hoffard, Food Technology – Lachlan Suffield, Product Design and Technology (Wood) – Zach Vincent, Most Outstanding – Ivy O’Connor, and School Council Acquisition – Phoebe Bosley.
