Toy library to extend hours

By SALLY HAYES

The Euroa Toy Library is finding so much popularity with parents and young children that it will extend its opening hours in 2026.

The library began in June this year and is located at the School House at Euroa Primary School in Clifton Street.

It is open every first and third Friday of the month, 10am-12pm.

Due to growing demand, the hours will be extended in January to include the final Saturday of each month to give children weekend access to toys.

An annual family membership fee, which includes a volunteering session, is $65 and allows for children to borrow up to eight toys per fortnight.

This is an increase recently from five toys per fortnight due to the many families coming from out of town.

The toys are suited for children aged up to six years old.

And although some children find it difficult to part with toys after a loan, they get to come and borrow some more good things.

The library is well subsidised by the state government because of the benefits it has to early development and as the foundation of formal learning.
