Celebrating a decade of on-farm sales at Chateau

THURSDAY March 7 will see the McIntyres, John and Bev and son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Jenna of Chateau Limousins hold their 10th annual on-property sale held at Londrigan just outside Wangaratta.

With a breeding focus on cattle that are soft coated, easy doing, structurally sound and docile while maintaining market relevance this year's offering of 24 bulls is no exception.

With 22 of the sires being polled including six homozygous polled combined with eight black bulls of which three are homozygous black there is a large selection of sires that can be bought for those targeting specific traits, with eight bulls being suitable to use on heifers.

This year's draft will feature sons of previous top price sale bulls in New Generation N79 and Matador M51 and the first sons of Qualification Q66 who was Grand Champion Bull at the 2021 Limousin National selling for $18,500.

Progeny from some of Chateau's newly introduced imported sires including Balamore Endeavour a calving ease specialist and TREF Hardcore a bull that is full of power, growth and muscle, will also be available.

With over 40 years of breeding and the commitment of two generations, show the passion the McIntyres have for not only breeding Limousin cattle but also ensuring that the right bull is selected for each individual operation, with free local delivery thrown into the equation.

The sale will commence at 1pm on March 7 and will be conducted by Peter Godbolt Nutrien Stud Stock and AWN Wangaratta in conjunction with Auctions Plus.

Bulls will be available for viewing from 10am sale day with photos and videos available via chateaulimousins.com and Auctions Plus from early February.

Chateau Limousins welcome enquires and also viewings by appointment of the bulls prior to sale day by contacting Andrew McIntyre on 0438 755 810.

Also if you would like a catalogue posted please contact the stud to arrange one to be sent.
