The Wangaratta Concert Band is performing as part of the 2025 Seniors Festival on Sunday, 26 October at 2pm at the Wangaratta Uniting Church hall.

It is sure to be an afternoon of entertaining music ranging from upbeat tunes to stirring classics.

The concert will feature both the full Wangaratta Concert Band, as well as small ensembles, including the brass and flute sections.

There will also be a number of duets and solos throughout the afternoon.

The program spans a multitude of genres, ranging from family favourites such as The Rainbow Connection, to iconic musicals such as The Lord of the Dance and even well-loved pop hits from Abba.

“We’ve put together a really exciting program – there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” said Laura Vincent, co-musical director of the band.

Performing as part of the Seniors Festival continues the Wangaratta Concert Band’s long history within the community, bringing together musicians of all ages to share their love of music.

They invite the community to celebrate this longstanding tradition with an afternoon of musical delights, showcasing their hard work and shared passion with beautiful music in a fun atmosphere.

The concert is free to attend and will be held at the Wangaratta Uniting Church hall on Sunday, 26 October.

Music will commence at 2pm, with light refreshments to follow the concert.

Pencil, Pastel & Paint at Art Gallery on Ovens

Two of North East Victoria’s most accomplished artists, Jennifer Paull and Kate Jenvey, are exhibiting their work together in a new exhibition called Pencil, Pastel & Paint at the Art Gallery on Ovens in the laneway off Murphy Street in Wangaratta.

The pair invite audiences into a world of delicate detail, vivid colour and reverence for the natural world, with Jennifer’s work spanning portraiture, the figure, still life and landscape, and Kate's finely rendered animal portraits in graphite and coloured pencil.

Pencil, Pastel & Paint is open daily until Monday, 27 October.

Birds of a Feather Artisans Market

Browse an eclectic assortment of handmade products at the Birds of a Feather Artisans Market at the Chiltern Courthouse on 25 and 26 October.

Vendors have come together to start off the Christmas season preparations by offering unique, personal gifts and homewares including original artworks, textile homewares, children's clothing, wood carved products, printed products and home décor products.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday in Main Street, Chiltern.

Wangaratta community market

The Wangaratta community market runs every Sunday (except Easter Sunday) at Moore Than Swimming, located at 11-13 Mason Street in Wangaratta, from 8am until 1pm.

There are a wide range of stalls to browse with new and used items, plants, fruit and veg and more, with refreshments available.

Stalls are available for just $20 each (no bookings required) and car boot sales are welcome for $15, with more information via the market's Facebook page or call Sheree on 0401 665 886.

Wangaratta Historical Society open weekends

Take a trip down memory lane each weekend by visiting the Wangaratta Historical Society and Museum in the old fire station in Ford Street.

The museum is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm and entry is free, with exhibitions updated regularly.
