Frocktober will return to Bright this Saturday to give the town an opportunity to get dressed up with a splash of teal and test their 1980s and 1990s film, rock music and entertainment trivia knowledge, as Anna Kelly and a committee of friends host the bi-annual celebration to raise funds for ovarian cancer research.

With an 80s and 90s rock, movies and TV theme as this year's dress code, attendees will be able to enter the evening's silent auction, raffle and rounds of trivia, emceed for the night by Sammy Mack from ‘Damn'd Sam and the Preachers’, with music by DJ Nash Thomas.

Ms Kelly said Frocktober has garnered so much local interest, the party has moved venue to the Bright Community Centre.

"It's become so big, I’ve had to ask for help this year and we've had to move Frocktober to a bigger venue," she said.

"This is my sixth event; the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation host annual Froctober events nationwide, but I host one every other year.

"This Saturday I'm holding it in honour of my Mum, Diana, who passed away from ovarian cancer earlier this year: her name will be up in lights.

"I’ve got four ladies who are helping me on the amazing committee and I’m so grateful we’ve received so many donations for the silent auction, from a number of generous Bright businesses.

"Out of 144 tickets, there's only 22 tickets left, which I’m pretty sure will sell.

"So far we've raised just over $74,000.

"I’d like to get to the $100,000 mark this year if we can, which would be fantastic."

The evening will also see an anonymous 'Fave Dip' competition: for $20 participants can enter their favourite homemade dip, by bringing along a pre-prepared bowl with a list of ingredients to let other folks decide.

Crackers and veggie sticks will be provided and the winner will be crowned on the night.

Drinks will be available at bar prices and on arrival there will be a 'Lime Wedge Platters' grazing table, while the event itself is BYO food.

The Bright Community Centre will set the stage for this year's Frocktober, to be held at 1 Railway Avenue, from 6pm to 11pm, this Saturday, 25 October.
