Lloyd Spiegel is an Australian guitarist, songwriter, and singer.

On 26 November he will be inducted into The Victorian Blues Music Hall of Fame at a Gala Blues Night at the Memorial Music Hall, St Kilda.

Lloyd began performing at the age of 10, and has since produced ten albums and collaborated on many other recordings both as artist and producer.

He is now a 14-time Australian Blues Award Winner who has one of the most interesting stories in music, having grown up on stage, learning from and touring with the founders of modern Blues music.

Spiegel’s guitar wizardry, powerful lyrics and knack for humorous story telling delivers a truly unique performance that reinvents the genre and dispels the clichés associated with the Blues.

Whether he’s spellbinding audiences solo or leading his dynamic trio which feature trombone and drums, every performance is an entertainment experience like no other.

Spiegel is due to perform at the Strathbogie Festival over the Melbourne Cup weekend.

This four-day event is in its third year and is expected to attract a large crowd.

Spiegel will be performing from around 4pm on the Saturday, 1 November at the Strathbogie Memorial Hall.

He will be supported by Euroa local musician Jeremiah Johnston who is fast making a name for himself in the music entertainment arena.

Also performing will be the Melbourne bush band Wahzee.

The four-day festival has something for everyone including a bush market on the Sunday, old fashioned sports events, an AusKick Clinic, a CFA fire truck display, a bar and of course plenty of food on offer.

Monday, 3 November will feature a heritage walk of the township starting at 10.30am.

On Tuesday, 4 November – Melbourne Cup Day – the Strathbogie Golf Club will be hosting a special event which includes fashions, a luncheon, and of course watching the ‘Big Race’.

This annual event is very popular with both locals and visitors alike.

Also included in this year’s festival is an art exhibition with three local artist displaying their works – to be held in the recreation reserve pavilion.

This year’s fundraising will support the Strathbogie Playgroup and the Memorial Hall renovations.

The main sponsors for the event are Strathbogie Sire Council, Nutrien, Lindsay Park racing, and Inland Rail.
