ALPINE Health has inducted five talented graduate nurses into its Graduate Nurse Program this week, with another to follow in the coming weeks.
The program for recently graduated Registered Nurses provides valuable experience and continues to build the skills of the new professionals.
Nurses will follow a structured placement rotation across a variety of care settings, including acute care, urgent care, community nursing and aged care.
This comprehensive approach allows nurses to experience different services and sites, enhancing their skills and knowledge and offering the opportunity to explore potential specialisations as they advance in their careers.
Daisy Laithang, Zen Tan, and Nischal Chhetri come to Alpine Health from Melbourne, choosing to make the move to the Alpine region to gain hands-on experience in regional nursing.
They were drawn to Alpine Health for the chance to work across a wide range of services.
“In Melbourne, we would have been required to specialise in just one area, but here we have the opportunity to experience them all, which is very appealing,” Daisy said.
Jodie Germaine, a Bright local, may be familiar to some as she first joined Alpine Health in 2020 as a covid screener.
Since then, she has completed her tertiary education and progressed in her career to become an Enrolled Nurse and now a Registered Nurse.
Jodie is particularly passionate about palliative care and mental health, areas where she feels she can really make a difference to people’s lives.
Working at a hospital in her hometown of Bright is an ideal situation for Jodie as a working mother.
Ashleigh Fenton, a Mount Beauty local, has made a career change from being a fully qualified speech pathologist to pursue a nursing career.
After completing placements at Alpine Health during her Registered Nurse studies, Ashleigh is excited to continue working close to home.
She looks forward to focusing on acute and palliative care, with a particular interest in paediatrics.
"I’m excited about the opportunity to make a difference in these areas,” she said.
Anamika Chaudhary will be joining the team later this month, rounding out the intake of graduate nurses to six.
"Please join us in welcoming our new graduate nurses to the Alpine Health family," a spokesperson from Alpine Health said.
"We are proud to support their growth and development as they embark on this important stage of their careers."
