Where do you live?
We're visiting from Melbourne.
How often do you visit the Myrtleford area?
We're part of a caravan club, so we've stayed in Myrtleford before. It's a very popular caravan spot. We visit the region two or three times a year; we were in Porepunkah in March for a golf weekend and we've been to Beechworth recently. Driving in Nug Nug the other day was perfect.
What do you do for a living?
We're retired, but we both worked in the disability support services.
What are your hobbies and interests?
D: Caravanning, reading, walking and exercises and playing mahjong.
R: I like playing golf and gardening. We both like catching up with friends and family.
What do you think makes the area unique?
D: The history of the town's tobacco industry, the hops fields, the Italian ancestry. Red Ramia and the reasonably priced op shops are fantastic. It's not as fast-paced as Bright; it's more of a country town. It has gorgeous surrounds.
R: We've got a friend whose name is Standish, which you don't see on many signs. So, we've done the obligatory photo standing underneath it.
What would you change about the area?
Move it closer to Melbourne. Although it wouldn't have the same appeal in that case, so probably nothing.
