Mansfield families are invited to join in a special celebration for Children’s Week 2025, a national event recognising the talents, skills, achievements, and rights of children across Australia.

Children’s Week 2025 will be held from Saturday, 18 October to Sunday, 26 October, with this year’s theme: “Everyone should know about Children’s Rights”, inspired by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

As part of the week’s celebrations, Council’s Supported Playgroup will host a Children’s Week Event on Wednesday, 22 October, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Mansfield Youth Centre.

The event is open to children from birth to school age, along with their parents, carers, or grandparents.

Activities will focus on children’s rights, encouraging fun, learning, and awareness in a supportive and engaging environment.

Highlights of the day will include interactive children’s activities centred on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, a free morning tea for families, face painting, and special appearances by local emergency services, including Police and SES.

This free community event is made possible with the support of a Victorian Department of Education Children’s Week Grant.

“We're proud to host this event and are grateful for the support of the Victorian Department of Education grant which has made it possible.

I encourage all families with young children to come along and join the celebration,” said Cr Rabie.
