THE Murray Bushrangers have announced a 90-player girls pre-season squad.

Seven Wangaratta Rovers players have been selected with Mila Armstrong, Lily Gibb, Lily Fraser, Willow Grace-Foster, Amy Lowe, Ruby Newton and Amelie Thompson all vying to be picked in the final 40-50 player squad for the 2025 Coates Talent League season.

Over 200 players nominated for the squad and Murray Bushrangers talent manager Mick Wilson said it was great to have so many girls interested.

"We've picked a bigger squad so we can give as many girls the exposure and education of what our pre-season program brings," Wilson said.

"More than 200 players nominated so to have that many young girls wanting to come and try is great.

"From the 90-players we'll cut that down to around 40-50."

The girls will follow the same model that the under 18 boys do with one training session in a hub and one as a whole group each week.

"Both the u18 girls and boys will follow the same model and they're actually going to be training at the same places," Wilson said.

"So we'll have our boys and girls sharing the facilities which will be good education for all."

Meanwhile, Bushrangers girls graduates Ellie Hall (Narrandera) and Holly Egan (Shepparton) are hoping to be drafted at the National Draft on December 16.

"Both girls impressed at the combine so fingers crossed they find their way onto an AFLW list," Wilson said.
