On the evening of Thursday 4 September, 42 local women braved the cold weather coming together for the Jean Hailes Women’s Health event, hosted by local trainer Lou Hopwood of Loufit PT.
In its eighth successful year, the event once again highlighted the importance of community, connection, and putting women’s health first.
Tickets sold out in under 48 hours, reflecting the strong support and enthusiasm for this annual gathering.
The evening featured three guest speakers who shared their knowledge and inspired attendees with practical tips for everyday life:
• Lisa Maltman – Sleep Educator
• Shayne Mitchell – Kinesiology and Reiki practitioner,
• Dee Mawson – Nutritionist,
The event created a safe space for women to pause from their busy lives, say yes to themselves, and focus on making simple, positive changes for their health and wellbeing. Attendees described the night as not just educational, but also supportive and empowering.
Importantly, the evening also supported the Jean Hailes Foundation, with $10 from every ticket donated to the organisation that continues to lead the way in women’s health research and education across Australia.
“This event has always been about more than just learning," said Lou.
"It’s about women coming together, supporting each other, and recognising that looking after ourselves benefits not just us, but our families and our whole community.”
With another sold-out success, the Jean Hailes Women’s Health event has cemented itself as a cornerstone in the local calendar — bringing women together, year after year, to connect, learn and thrive.
