The Redlegs travelled to Tallygaroopna for the final round of the KDL home and away season, competing for the Beyond Blue Redlegs Cup, kindly donated by the Larkins family.

After the action on court and field, players and supporters headed to major club partner The Peppermill Inn, where a large crowd gathered for the first ten rounds of the club vote count on a fantastic celebration of the season so far.

NETBALL

UNDER 11s

The U11s finished their season on a high, playing with determination and even beginning to work on channeling.

They didn’t let anything get in their way.

Murphy’s Motors Best On: Fifi on a standout in goals.

Coaches Award: Marlee for her hands on every ball and strong support for her teammates.

UNDER 13s

The U13s adapted well to new combinations with a player missing, showing great versatility.

Avenel Café Best On: Tilly Clayton who excelled in a new role, with hands on everything.

Coaches Award: Abby made strong leads all game.

Extra Award: Scarlett for her amazing shooting.

UNDER 15s

The U15s showed just how much they’ve grown, reducing a 46 goal loss earlier in the year to just 22.

They made Tally fight hard for every goal.

UNDER 17s

What a way to finish the season.

The U17s came out firing, played exceptional netball, and claimed a 13 goal win over one of the competition’s strongest clubs.

A huge effort to end the year on a high.

The girls fought hard for possession and made some fun positional changes, but Tally proved too strong.

C GRADE

C Grade came out strong, leading early and level at halftime before tiring late against Tally’s pressure.

Inbound Aviation Best On: Kellie Bender

B GRADE

With many players stepping up to A Grade, the B Grade side ran out of legs but still managed to reduce Tally’s winning margin from earlier in the year.

They even had a laugh trying players in new positions.

Jippo Angus Best On: Maddi

A GRADE

Missing four players through injury and illness, the A Grade side battled hard with help from B Grade players and U17s.

They fought bravely all game and showed enormous character.

Seeka Australia Best On: Niamh

FOOTBALL

UNDER 15s

The U15 boys finished their season with plenty of effort, helped by a few extra hands.

Despite inaccuracy in front of goal, they pressed hard all day.

They wrapped up a challenging year with three wins and plenty of promise.

Done Shovelling Best Players: Captain Coops, Jac Roob and Coen

Special mentions: Josh for his work up forward and Luke at centre half forward.

UNDER 18s

The U18s couldn’t repeat their previous winning performance against a strong Tally' outfit, with illness and injury taking a toll.

Despite this, they fought it out until the end.

With only a few top-agers, the team looks forward to welcoming the talented U15s group in 2026.

RESERVES

The Reserves started strongly with plenty of the ball but couldn’t convert their chances.

A quiet second quarter let Tally' slip away, but the boys bounced back with four goals in the third before running out of legs in the last.

SENIORS

The Seniors started strongly with the breeze and kept their intensity up all day.

Inaccuracy in front of goal cost them a bigger result, but it was an impressive performance to cap off the home and away season.

BD North East Electrics Best Players: Jye Formosa, Rhyse Cason, Jordan Formosa, Dillon Hardy

The club now looks ahead to a huge few weeks.

Thursday: Training as usual with the bar open and meals served.

Friday August 29 at 10am: Official opening of the new female friendly change facilities, followed by morning tea.

Saturday August 30 August: Redlegs host the KDL Second Semi Final at Redlegs Stadium.
