New safety vests helps junior riders when ‘jumping’

Euroa Pony Club has received a boost thanks to a grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria, enabling the purchase of eight brand-new safety vests for its riders.

The vests will be used by members when tackling the Club’s recently renovated cross-country course, ensuring riders are well-protected while enjoying the thrill of jumping.

Club District Commissioner, Kyra Seach, said the grant is a huge support for a small, volunteer-run club.

“Safety is our top priority, and these vests mean our riders can confidently develop their skills on our new jumps, knowing they’re well protected.”

Based in Longwood, the club meets on the last Sunday of each month and offers a range of riding activities for our members.

Alongside monthly rallies, the club hosts popular events including Freshman’s Showjumping days and its annual Gymkhana held each March, which attracts riders and families from across the district.

With the addition of the new safety equipment, the club is looking forward to seeing its members grow in both skill and confidence.

With 30 current members we are also in the process of expanding our riding space with the addition of a new sand arena to assist our riders with more safe, year round riding surfaces.

“Grants like this make a real difference to grassroots clubs like ours,” Kyra added. “We’re so grateful for the support, and excited to continue offering safe, fun opportunities for local riders.”
