Euroa B Grade marches to T20 grand final

It was a packed weekend of cricket for Euroa across both the B Grade and D Grade sides, featuring strong performances, finals action, and plenty of promise ahead of the one-day season.

Introducing the 2025/2026 Senior Leadership team.

Nominating as co-captains for our B Grade side are Jye Bjorksten and Nic Hill.

Both Euroa locals, they provide a steady hand to guide the club.

D Grade side is being led by captain and vice captain Connor McCombe and Tim Swift, with Jack Wilson as team manager.

Euroa won the toss and batted first, posting 9/124 (20 overs).

William Jackson produced a superb 84 off 71 balls, holding the innings together while Nic Burke (18 off 28) added valuable lower order runs.

In reply, Euroa’s bowlers defended strongly.

Darby Wilson (4/30) and Jackson (3/11) ripped through the opposition lineup, with Oliver Wilson (1/28) also contributing as Euroa advanced to the Grand Final.

Northerners elected to bat first and were bowled out for 108, thanks to disciplined efforts from Jack Walters (3/18), Oliver Wilson (2/22), and William Jackson (1/17).

Darby Wilson (1/12) and Nicholas Hill (1/7) added key breakthroughs late.

Euroa’s chase fell just short, bowled out for 101 (19.1 overs).

Ryan Hill (28 off 15) set the tone early, while Jackson (20 off 29) and Burke (19 off 29) fought hard in the middle order.

Despite the narrow loss, Euroa’s consistency and team spirit shone through, rounding out a strong T20 campaign and building confidence for the longer format.

Euroa will host Karramomus in their first 45-over home match this Saturday at the Friendlies, with play starting at 12.30pm.

The side will look to carry their T20 form and momentum into the one-day season.

D Grade

Saturday — Lower Grade Double Header

At Vibert Reserve, Euroa put up a fight in the morning fixture, posting 4/120 (20 overs) after winning the toss.

David Gleeson (60 off 49) top scored with son Jacob (22 off 21) and skipper Connor McCombe (21 off 28), both not out, providing key support.

Despite a strong total, Karramomus chased down the target with 2/122 (14.3 overs).

Patrick Murphy and Leo Murphy each took a wicket in an encouraging all-round performance.

In their second match, Euroa compiled 5/105 (20 overs), led again by McCombe (22 off 21) not out and Oliver Robertson (21 off 24), with solid contributions from Jacob Gleeson (18), and Jacob Tunks (16).

But Northerners proved too powerful, chasing the target down in just seven overs without loss.

While results didn’t fall their way, Euroa gained valuable match experience, building confidence for the rest of the season.

Euroa’s next D Grade clash will be the first D Grade one day match against Numurkah, at Numurkah Showgrounds Oval two next Saturday at 12.30pm.
