Sheep and Wool show success

The Australian Sheep and Wool Show hit a massive milestone in July with the annual event celebrating 25 years in Bendigo.

Back in 1999, the show made the move from Melbourne Showgrounds to regional Victoria.

"It was a leap of faith – but Bendigo, with its deep agricultural roots and wool industry pride, was the perfect fit," said show organisers.

"What started as a new chapter quickly became the heart and soul of the event – and we’ve never looked back."

Since then, the event has grown into the world’s biggest sheep show, showcasing the best of Aussie studs, fleece, food, fashion, and fun.

Visiting the show, Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland lauded the event and what it represented for the Victorian agricultural industry.

"Every time I walk into the Australian Sheep and Wool Show – 15 years and counting – I feel completely recharged," she said.

"I’m inspired by the progress of our breeders, proud of the passion and dedication of our woolgrowers, and absolutely certain that agriculture is one of the industries that can drive Victoria’s future."
