Whittlesea Show gaining momentum

AS WE head into Spring the preparations for the upcoming Whittlesea Show are in full swing.

The much-loved event for all will undergo some changes under new Whittlesea Agricultural Society (WAS) president, Jayson Munro, with a mix of the old and new certain to entertain the crowds across the weekend over November 2 and 3.

A pygmy goat competition including obstacle course, smokehouse and distillery are amongst the new features, as well as drone displays, dodgem cars, rope making, butter churning and new, informative workshops.

The soon to be announced headline act is also set to be a crowd pleaser.

The show is the work of dedicated volunteers who bring together one of the biggest agricultural shows in Victoria, with something for everyone.

WAS president, Jayson Munro, explained, “The key is that we work hard to provide something for everyone.

"Every single person in the community can participate.

"Whether that is coming along for the rides and show bags, or to get up close with animals you may not usually interact with, enjoying stage entertainment, the food or the market, or by entering one of our many competitions as an individual, school or group, you can absolutely get involved.

"There are not many events in our community like the Whittlesea Show”.

The many opportunities to enter as a novice or experienced exhibitor will be listed in the show schedule which will soon become available online at www.whittleseashow.org.au
